Dordle is a Wordle-inspired puzzle that asks you to solve two different five-letter words simultaneously. One submitted word appears on both grids, but each board evaluates the letters against its own hidden answer.
You have seven total guesses to complete both boards. This gives you one additional attempt compared with a standard six-guess Wordle puzzle, but the extra board requires you to divide your attention between two sets of clues.
The original Dordle was released by Zaratustra in January 2022 as an HTML5 game. The version available on this page follows the same central format: two grids, shared guesses and color-coded feedback.
A Dordle round begins with two empty five-letter grids. Enter a valid word and submit it once. The same guess will appear on both boards, but the resulting colors can be different because each side has a separate answer.
For example, a letter can be green on the left board and gray on the right board. Always read the clues for each grid separately rather than applying the result from one side to both words.
When you solve one board, continue using the remaining guesses to finish the other. You win the round only after identifying both hidden words within the seven-attempt limit.
The version displayed here provides two ways to play:
Both modes use the same two-board format and seven-guess limit. Daily mode is suitable for comparing results, while Free mode provides additional rounds for learning how the two-grid system works.
No account or installation is required for the browser version available on this page.
Dordle uses divided keyboard feedback to help you follow both puzzles. A keyboard letter can display separate information for the left and right boards, allowing you to see how that letter behaves in each answer.
Do not discard a letter simply because it is gray on one side. It may still be yellow or green on the other board. Check both parts of the keyboard clue before choosing your next word.
A useful Dordle opener combines common vowels and consonants without repeating letters. Words such as CRANE, SLATE and STARE provide a balanced first test.
A vowel-heavy word can reveal useful information, but it may test fewer common consonants. There is no opening word that guarantees a win, so choose one that helps you gather information on both boards.
You can play Dordle online for free through the game displayed on this page. It runs in a modern web browser without requiring an account, download or separate installation.
